According to WBAL TV 11, Johns Hopkins initiated an investigation of Dr. Levy on Feb. 4, 2013; hospital security soon discovered that Dr. Levy had been allegedly illegally taking photos and videos of patients and possibly others with his personal photographic equipment and storing those images electronically.
Levy acknowledged the allegations and was fired from Johns Hopkins on Feb. 8, 2013. Ten days later, Baltimore City Police found the doctor dead in his Towson, Maryland home of an apparent suicide.
While Johns Hopkins Hospital has reportedly begun to notify some patients, Dr. Levy treated hundreds of patients during his time at the facility, and not all have been notified.
